Help with DRO

My husband has been accepted for his DRO and it has now been in operation for a month. However DWP are still taking money from his benefits for an overpayment that has been included in the DRO. We have rung them, sent copies of the DRO and told the OR who are also sending copies again but taking £10 a week from his money is really causing us to struggle, I am on a DMP and before the DRO they were only taking £1 a week!

Has anyone any suggestions or had any experience with this?

Thanks
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

    Hi there

Sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing.

If the decision to recover the overpayment was made prior to the DRO (which it must have been, since you state that this debt was included in the application) then recovery must stop during the DRO moratorium, no two ways about it. Even if DWP were treating it as a fraudulent overpayment, they would usually stop deductions during the DRO.

Sounds like this is just a case of administrative error, so you just need to stay on their case until it is rectified. Best of luck
