having trouble with active sync

I can not get my phone to connect with my pc either at home or at work.

I use to be able to with no problems.

I have tried downloading active sync from the mobile windows site, it downloads it, runs the install wizard then i get this message

"error. there is a problem with the windows installer package. a DDL is required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personelle or package vendor"

My mobile is the XDA orbit from 02.

Although i am at my work pc at the moment, there is no restrictions on users downloading applications off the internet, as I have done a few this morning.

Can anyone help?

Could try it from a different source:

Does it name the required file and can you take a screenshot of the error?

have tried downloading from softpedia and it doesnt download, think that maybe die to using works pc. will try at home.

tried the windows one again and got the same error message

Download and install the latest Windows Installer and then install ActiveSync again.
