    Who's a troll? Sorry what?
I think you might be referring to my rudeness- I'm rude, but honest and most certainly not a 'troll'.

  • As I've said there was no dishonesty in my application- It said I finished sixth form in 2013, and I'd be starting uni in 2013.

Make of that what you will- but frankly, I believe that was enough information for them to make an informed decision, which they failed to do.

I let them know immediately when they offered me an interview, I made it explicitly clear to them- so whose time and money was wasted?

I think you may need to jump down off that big ol' high horse.

Although I will admit, that I probably should not have applied. But, it is up to the business ultimately to decide who they wish to interview. They were provided with all of the information to make that decision.

Perhaps the fact that you stated you were going to university this year was the reason they did not respond to your original application in the first place. It was your follow up phone call that resulted in the interview. I am with others on this, if you had no intention of doing the job then why apply for it in the first place. As another suggestion perhaps just go for the job and don't bother with university, as the "life style" alone is not really worth the debt. You may come out of university owing money and finding there are no jobs available while you are being offered quite a good one now when there are very few jobs available.

They didn't connect who I was. I pointed it out the woman on the phone. I understand what you are saying and perhaps I shouldn't of applied- but I wanted/still want a job for the summer. It demonstrated that perhaps I should apply for slightly better jobs while at university than I considered :)

I am going to university for a number of reasons not just the student lifestyle. I want/need a degree for my long term goals.
