Hi
Not sure which board to post on so pls bear with me.

Bullet points.

Got an Out Card Left from Royal Mail on 26/06.
Called at depot on 27/06 both morning and afternoon - item hadn't been returned yet.
Told them I was going on holiday on 27/06 for 2 weeks.
No problem the chap says we keep items for 3 weeks.
Called back on 15/07 - item returned to sender.
Told supervisor all of the above and he shrugged and had no clue what happens next. Phoned customer services, same.

Apart from scream out loud in an empty room, is there anything I can do? I have no idea who the sender is. No tracking number. Package too big for letter box and no other clues on card. Thanks in advance.

Your chap is 6 months behind the curve
    it is 18 days now
I would file a claim for a lost item
    make it up or whatever
its not your fault you were misinformed(classic RM though)
A mate who was off sick during the changes, actually ended up informing her managers of the change in retention periods some weeks after the change

You would be I'll-advised to fill out a claim form - especially if you do not know who sent it, what was in it, and its value. Any items uncollected after a P739 is left is returned to the sender.

I'd wait until they contact you.

    If they have senders details
The OP has lost an item due to RM not following their own procedures
