You have nothing to worry about, just go to the post office and sort your tax out and get the v5 sent off. How would anyone know or care who you bought it off?;)Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I didn't think the post office could change the taxation class?0

Look on the bright side. When you go to sell it it will have one less previous owner.
Eta Just take all your paperwork to your local DVLA office.0 -

How to claim
You claim the exemption when you apply for a tax disc.
You can do this online, by phone, by post or at a Post Office that issues tax discs.
You’ll need:- your exemption certificate serial number
- the surname, date of birth and National Insurance number of the exemption certificate holder
- certificate of entitlement for DLA
- statement of entitlement for PIP
- annual certificate of entitlement
- DLA404
- MHS330
- WPA0442

I find it strange a trader didn't transfer the V5 over to the new owner for 12 months. Wonder what would've happened if the buyer had set off some speed cameras. Did you HPI check the car when you bought it?0

Taxing your vehicle in the disabled tax class
How to tax in the disabled tax class for the first time
Applying for the first free tax disc is different to renewing it every year.
For used vehicles, the tax class of the vehicle must be changed in person at a DVA local office or by post to DVA, Coleraine, BT51 3TA. You must have your full vehicle registration certificate (V5C(NI)), insurance certificate and MOT certificate (if applicable).
You will also need to:
fill in the appropriate sections of your exemption certificate - if you have the re-useable Certificate of Entitlement to DLA you will need to enter the registration number of the vehicle in the top right-hand corner

That's in NI, in mainland Britain you can do it at a post office, they will issue tah tax and send the v5 to Swansea for you so the taxation class can be changed along with the new keeper details. To revert back to PLG you have to either go into aDVLA area office or sent to Swansea.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
