Huge AC fan here! I recently started feeling nostalgic for AC and - shock horror - I pre-ordered the next game months in advance! I've never done that before! I'm not even working atm either, but I just had to buy it before I got too broke to afford it .

Anyone else done the same thing? C'mon, make me feel better about it

P.S. I got it on XBOX, but should I have gotten it on PS3 instead? Which do you think is better?

P.P.S. I just saw 'Embers' after about 2 years. And now I wish I hadn't.

I've pre-ordered it too, Gold Dust. Although, I'm not sure I've done the right thing because I pre-ordered AC3 too and I was really disappointed with it. I didn't like the Connor character at all!

That said, Black Flag looks much, much better and it's got the ships, which were one of the only things I liked about AC3.

I've pre-ordered for the Xbox, but I think I'm going to change it to PS4 because I've got one of those on order too. But I originally ordered for my Xbox as I much prefer it to my PS3.

Another AC to look forward to. More hours of un-broken repetitive gameplay doing the same tasks over anover again while the Assassin clumsily runs into walls intead of up them and more fights based around block then attack until 10 soldiers are dead. Can't wait....

Well, if you're anything like me, you can't stand to let a series continue untried, even if you can no longer stand said series. Connor wasn't a character that you could connect with imo, and his whole story didn't seem to mesh well with the other games - it was too random!

I couldn't stand most of the ship scenes!! All of that laborious steering and the annoying wait whilst the cannons focused...*leSnore*. And yet here I am buying the next one...I be a sucker for the AC series, I do.:o

Don't you think it might be a bit glitchy on the PS4, being new technology and all? I bought AC3 on the ps3 and was rather underwhelmed by the glitchy and flat gameplay. I don't think it ran as well as it did on the 360 and for that reason, I got it on the 360 this time. Not to mention the fact that my ps3 is currently undergoing repairs for the second time in six months - it's probably on it's way out :A

Cynic. It may or may not be more of the same, but when Ubisoft gets it right, they sure do get it right....here's hoping for another corker!

Gold Dust, yes, I'm a sucker for the series too and couldn't let it lie! After AC3 I said I would never get another one until it dropped to bargain basement price, but here I am, pre-ordering again! But I loved the ships - maybe I just like blowing big things to kingdom come! :rotfl:

You've got me thinking now though! Maybe I should just get it for the Xbox after all as I know the series has played well on the Xbox to date, so this should be no different. Or should I risk it and hope the PS4 version is lovely and smooth and glitch free. Because if the PS4 is all that and the AC4 version is good, think how much fun I'll have blowing the ships to kingdom come next generation stylee!

Consider how much fun it would be to be in the middle of an epic battle, only to find that the PS4 has glitched and that Edward's now yelling orders with his head through the mast, or something like that . If you're willing to risk that, then it's a no-brainer.

I only got the last copy on the ps3 for the bonus material, and was really disappointed, not to mention, I was really missing the extra buttons on the xbox controller! I'm not trying to sway you either way btw, sorry!

Here's a compromise - pre-order both versions, then hope like hell that one of your PS4-owning friends has bought it on that, and give it a looksee - if it floats your boat (*cough* punabsolutelyintended *cough*) then return the xbox version, and Bob's yer uncle!

Pre-ordered and saved some money - how very MSE!! It's a shame that the pre-order bonuses are all digital. Couldn't give a monkeys about a different wheel or costume.

Not only did I change mine to PS4 I then went back and changed it to the buccaneer edition! Not very MSE but I got game cards for my birthday so I thought I would splurge!

Will be anxiously awaiting reviews from the PS3/Xbox 360 though, so if it's not good news will have time to cancel.

I know, I know! But I saved all my birthday Game cards for it. And traded a couple of things in to add funds to my Game card. So a bit MSE. But not much. :rotfl:
