help re claim

i would like some help from some experts on here re some possible claims i believe that i may have.It was only from the mid 1990's onwards that i began to take an interest in financial matters and up until then i was vulnerable to being ripped off and mis-sold.
i know that in Nov 1986 i took out a loan with Barclays Bank, ( i was and still am a customer/account holder) i also know that i was told to take out the payment protection insurance even though i didn't need it as i had a secure job etc etc. I also know that i took out a loan with the AA in October 1991 and they insisted on me taking out the payment protection insurance even though my circumstances hadn't changed. I have been into a local Barclays branch and they can only trace my account back until 1996 so in effect I have no evidence to prove that i had the loan in 1986 or that I can prove I had the AA loan as the AA account number of the loan would have been on the bank statement but as earlier there is no trace of my statements prior to 1996.
The same applies to Barclaycard and Leeds Credit Card in the early 1990's. it is proving i had the accounts.
So, if anyone has any tips on how to claim when account details are not readily available of the loans please let me know. I find it incredible that banks or credit cards do not keep records going back further than the six years they are meant to.

They sometimes do have records going back further but you would need to send an SAR to each financial organisation to find out for sure.

I have always received more information than was initially available after sending an SAR but there's no guarantee they'll have any or they'll have the information you are after.0 -
I doubt they'll have information from 26 years ago.
Send the SAR, see what you get.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
