national expectations yr1 - PE

Hi

End of year report time!!

Can anyone tell me what are the 'national expectations' for PE for year 1 are?

My sons had his report and hes doing well - apart from PE in which he isn't meeting the national expectations  How can a 'normal healthy' 6 year old not be? what even are the expectations??

(i'm not worried, more bemused at how this is even possible and what it is that he supposedly cant do)

  • I just googled and found this. It looks like catching/ throwing/ understanding instructions are pretty high on the list. There is also this page from the DofE which goes into detail.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

yes, probably something like lack of co-ordination with catching/throwing etc. My friend's daughter is 13 and still struggles with that - she's just a clumsy girl :rotfl::rotfl:.

thanks for the link, how odd though, I cant see anything on the list that stands out that he couldn't do.
Id go and get him to bounce a ball while moving but he's at beavers.
He should know all about why they warm up before exercise etc because he does it every week at trampoline club. :p

oh well hey ho cant expect him to be perfect at everything can I?:rotfl::rotfl:
