Is this a realistic price for Sound / Thermal engineer for small dev building regs ?

Hi,
I'm changing a commercial unit into 2 small flats - does this quote for the following seem realistic ?
To supply SAP calculations, compliance documentation
and EPCs on completion to satisfy Part L1b
To supply Building Acoustic Design Advice
To undertake Sound testing, comprising 2 airborne and 2
impact tests
£975+VAT

I can't comment on the thermal test but for a sound insulation test for two airborne and two impact tests I would expect a fee of around £500 + VAT for a one-man-band. Larger companies will charge more due to overheads.
Not sure how many quotes you have got but the Association of Noise Consultants lists the companies accredited to undertake the tests under the ANC scheme. Testing can also be undertaken by companies accredited by UKAS.0
