French Normandy ciders (occasionally obtainable in Lidl) are streets ahead of any of our ciders.
Have you never heard of the West Country? Plenty of delicious ciders made in Wales too, Gwynt y ddraig is lush.0 -

Certainly I've heard of the West Country. I used to live there! But none of their ciders, or Welsh ones, can match the real apple taste of a Normandy cidre.0 -
I wouldn't say the small brewery ciders taste chemically though, they usually have minimal preservatives. They're just a bit harder to get hold of.0

That's not true. I know for a fact Aspall cider has a wonderful flavour to it as have plenty of other brands.0 -

Westons vintage Cider and (especially the) Perry are both quality products, although the more recent cider vintages are not as good as some of the previous years.
Both quite pokey though at 8.2 and 7.4% respectively.0 -
