Help Needed - Clio indicator going left when selecting right

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice.

I have a 53 clio and when i select right the indicator shows the left hand arrow on the dash and the lights are all flashing left.

Left stick down is fine.

So its only when selecting to turn right (up)

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Probably the indicator relay......

But being French it could just as easily be a wiring fault.

What happens when you turn on the hazard lights?

If turn on the hazards both lights come on.

Have you checked all the exterior bulbs? French cars can do odd things when a bulb has blown.

All bulbs work fine when hazards come on.

Apparently a common fault, it's the relay (should be number 3) or it's the indicator stalk switch.

I would start at the stalk as that where all the switching is going gone. Without looking at the wiring diagrams its difficult to say for sure

If a relay fault you'd expect there to be no function/immediately working.

Changed the stalk and still got the same problem. So next step is the relay.

Looking on ebay for the part they just have standard relays, as they all the same or does each component have a certain type?

It wont be the main board or anything will it?
