in Credit cards
Hi. Would appreciate any comments on the Fluid credit card. Thinking of shifting a balance of just under £2k to it from my existing CC. Never heard of it until Martins pre-application checking tool recommended it. Is it any good? Service OK? All comments appreciated - thank you.

It's issued by MBNA. So will be ok.0

I have one, its exactly the same as any other mbna card as far as I can tell and has been fine to run.Make £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280
March £78/£3100 -
A quick question from me, regarding fluid and I guess other cards, such as Aqua, Vanquis etc...
I'm looking at it as my next 0% purchase card. I see the guide says, they accept people that have okay ratings, rather than tip top ratings.
I have been accepted for cards by M&S, Tesco, Lloyds, Virgin over the past few years, so I'm guess my rating is better than okay.
So my question is, does it affect your credit status, if you have products on your credit report, that are from providers who give credit to okay or even poor credit profiles.0 -
AFAIK the lenders can see only the balance, the limit and the history, not the provider.0

Thanks for that, I was hoping it was the case.0

Further to grumbler's response (and although in my case it was NatWest at the time, not MBNA) I'd held a Capital One Progress MasterCard with a poor limit and high APR.
NatWest took me on with a good credit limit and the typical, variable APR.
So I think you will be fine. After all it comes down to several factors rather than just which credit cards you've held. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Fluid can be fussy about opening new accounts if you have other active mbna cards, sometimes they require you to reduce credit limits on other mbna accounts or they will open with a low limit.Make £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280

I've heard this, but I've also heard as a lender that MBNA can be quite fussy, so who knows what to believe. The 15.9% purchases APR on my fluid card would also suggest that they're not as loose as some people like to believe, nor would the call from an underwriter the day after I applied asking me all sorts of questions.
Customer service seems to be good (and in well spoken English) with a nice website that allows you to manage the card well. I just wish they offered World Mastercards in their lineup.Oh, you wee bazza!0
