Virgin credit card - cancel balance transfer?

HI, bit of a weird one this...
0% term is ending on Barclaycard and my wife just called me to say she's processed a transfer onto our Virgin card for 12 months 0%.
Problem is I'd just finished the forms for a 27 month 0% card and the transfer will be processed onto that one in a couple of weeks, so I've asked her to call Virgin back and cancel the balance transfer.
But Virgin are adamant that there's no way they can cancel it and the only way to get it stopped is to wait for it to go through, then call Barclaycard and get it returned. The guy I just spoke to at BC sounded very confused by this and said it should absolutely be possible to cancel it at their end.
Has anyone had this before? Or even been able to cancel a balance transfer wit Virgin? It does seem a bit odd to me that they can't cancel it.

The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

If you're unsure, just ring Virgin back and confirm with someone else. If they confirm that's the case then that is the case.0

Yup, that's solved it. As soon as we mentioned that Barclaycard were questioning why they couldn't cancel, they sorted it straight away.
Funny how both the previous rep and the manager we got transferred to both refused during the first call...
Thanks! The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

I hope the 27 month one isn't Barclaycard as you won't be able to transfer from Barclaycard to Barclaycard.
I see there are a couple of others, so hopefully one of them.0 -
