Hi there.
I'm a recent graduate looking for work. I've just applied for JSA and housing benefit help me with my rent.
I've applied online with my local authority but it didn't give me any information other than saying what proof I needed. Do I have to go to my local one stop shop or do I wait for an email or a call/text
Thanks

Just bumping this because I really have no idea what to do next.
Do I wait for a call/letter or go into a one stop shop?0 -
I had to fill in forms and take along id etc to the local housing office.
If you stay alone you can claim single person council tax too.0 -
If you applied online it should have told you exactly what to do with regards evidence needed and whereto send it.
Perhaps telephone them in the morning and ask about the status of your claim.0 -
As you have applied through DWP your claim will be processed from your first point of contact when it is passed to your local authority, may be a good idea to take your tenancy agreement with you to your JSA appointment which you will probably get a text/call tomorrow.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
