Hi all...
Yes... The thread title would shock me too! Believe me, I have had my fair share of problems with both of these companies in the past although, I'm now happy to say that both have seemed to have turned a little corner. Whether it was a one off or not, I don't know! Apologies in advance for the long thread!
Last night I was going through a few of our Sky channels and realised that we don't actually watch a lot of them (surprise, surpise
) so, I decided to call Sky and see if they could shave a few off... Now, the account is in my Husbands name so I was fully expecting to be fobbed off for 'security reasons' (normally, companies like this will let you add anything you like on but as soon as you want to take anything off they HAVE to speak to the account holder!). I wasn't fobbed off at all - in fact, the guy I spoke to was extremely helpful and friendly. He made sure he went through every channel on the 'Entertainment' package to make sure we wouldn't miss anything and then cancelled it for us. I decided to be a little bit cheeky and ask if there was anyway he could save us some money. He then applied a nice little offer which is shaving £20 off of our bill each month for six months! I can't say how impressed I was with his service - I only wish I had gotten his name to publicly praise him on here!
The only thing that disappointed us with Sky was that they have 'lost' ESPN to BT. Although very apologetic, he couldn't say when or if we'd be able to view it again with Sky again. So, I called BT...
I'd seen on the TV that they were running some offer where BT customers (we're also BT customers) could receive BT Sport channels free for a year so I thought I'd enquire about that and if that included ESPN and also, if I'd have to get one of their little viewing boxes to be able to get those channels.
Troy (the rep I spoke to) was extremely helpful. Explained that ESPN was included and that we didn't need an extra box and could watch through our Sky box as we would normally. He also chucked in the HD option for free too (this could've been part of the deal already but still, very happy).
I know that this deal is running throughout the whole of BT's client base but the service I received when signing up to it was just brilliant! Something I'd never have expected I'd say about BT!!
So, thank you to both Sky & BT! You've both excelled in your Customer Service, for me! I hope that this lasts and wasn't just a one off because now, I wouldn't hesitate to call you whereas before, I'd have much rather e-mailed so I didn't have to speak to your operatives!
