The bit in your first post where you said" we took our credit reports in and the branch manager couldn't understand why you were declined"
This just shows that your branch manager was pretty clueless on how credit scoring works as they should of spotted that you had virtually no credit history of managing credit actually puts you in a higher risk bracket then those who've late payments with a credit history.0 -

So maybe that will shed some light , I will let you know the outcome
Just as an indicator as to what a load of codswallop these scores are Experian CreditExpert rated me as "980 - Excellent" this time last year - with six defaults and a discharged bankruptcy order on my credit file.
A year has passed and James Jones Experian Company Representative has still failed to explain this.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Sounds like an error to me. Never had a CCJ against me and less defaults and my 'score' (which I got free before I get my head bitten off!) was less than half that.
James is normally pretty decent at explaining things but I guess anything relating to either
a) individual circumstances or
b) questions about how detailed scores are derived
will be rather outside areas upon which he can comment.Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -

James jones is actually really useless at answering questions as he fails to reply to 90% of posts that catch him out as he can't answer them.
The gullible will always listen to him though!0 -

Yep. A very poor bank manager not to be able to provide decent advice.0 -

You'll catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar.
He has answered direct questions from me twice now which has provided good reassurance. Of course I can only speak from my own experiences but I think that the level of passive aggression you have adopted in your comment to me is probably indicative of perhaps why you're not recieving responses.Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -

Have you asked James Jones why people who are discharged BR with credit files littered with defaults get excellent credit scores and I just want a simple Yes or No from you???0 -

No, I was requesting information about the constituent elements of scores from certain providers, which he gave me directly.

Having said that with all that data on there I have been able to obtain an Amex Platinum and loan at 5.9% APR so perhaps it isn't so inaccurate?
Personally though I think that's largely to do with me having moved so many times since my BR that Amex and the loan company didn't actually see the old adverse data on my credit file at all.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
