HSBC and PPI

Hello,
I wondered if anybody had any idea as to how far back the HSBC records of PPI are likely to go (I know they are only legally obliged to hold records for 6 years).
I had a PPI with the HSBC at least 12 years ago, possibly longer and I don't have any record of the loan anymore, I did successfully claim back PPI from a much more recent loan from them, but I did have paperwork for that loan
Thanks

Only one way to find out for sure - send them an SAR and £10. I had records going back to the early 90's from them but only for certain products - statements were exactly seven years worth from the date of my request for instance. They have 40 days from receipt of your request to provide documents.0

Thank you so much for the reply, that would seem to be a good way forward finding out what information they actually have.
