Removing Old TV Ariel Cables

Hi, I just moved into a property - I'm a tenant but my friend has just bought it and is the one letting it to me - and gives me permission to do what I see fit to correct this problem. One agreement betwee is is that I fix small things like this and decorate a little to get it up to scratch.... while paying half the market rent for the next couple of years.
Anyway, three of the rooms gave unsightly TV cables coming in from outside that I'd like to get rid of but I'm not sure how. I neither watch nor own a TV so they are both redundant and ugly!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

As above then just pull the cables off the wall.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Well yes I did obviously think of just cutting the cables but didn't jnow if that was or if there was any other issues to consider. In one room they come in through a window ledge, if I cut them, the wire would be exposed ie not hidden under a carpet or similar.0

Just pull the wire out.0

You may not watch TV however, the next person renting or living in the house may...
Are the cables very old or just unsightly? Just make sure they aren't Virgin Media cables! If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Hi OP,
not meaning to sound mean, but if you don't know how to handle a simple problem like this, then not sure your mate is doing the right thing leaving you to 'do your own thing.
As has been stated, just cut them and pull them out and remove any cable clips and make good any holes!Well yes I did obviously think of just cutting the cables but didn't jnow if that was or if there was any other issues to consider. Re the above, no the wire wouldn't be left exposed, you would have removed it! Where it came through the window ledge, you would, however need to make good any holes to prevent water ingress. You may not watch TV however, the next person renting or living in the house may...

Re the above. Exactly! If I was your friend/landlord, I would not be happy that a perfectly servicable aerial cable had been removed so I had the expense of refitting it once you had left!
If you really have a problem, then as a friend (bearing in mind your half price rent(!) I would tidy the problem up, re routing the cable out of sight and possibly chasing into the wall leading to an aerial outlet socket like this

As a friend giving you such a great deal on rent, I would be chuffed at that.

Or look for some kind of aerial Faceplate \socket \ backbox so the cable can be neatly trimmed and a working solution left in place that could be then used in time - rather than just pulling the cable out..0
