Joint Account mess

God I've messed up.
My partner and I both have Premier Direct accounts with Alliance and Leicester. Wanting to keep things simple we opened a joint account on the 24th April with A & L too for paying out mortgage etc. The account would have a balance of £0.00 until we completed our house.
Prat here paid his Lloyds credit card bill (£325) from the wrong account
I logged in the next day we had -£350 in our joint account which was a shock, realised my mistake and I put £350 back into the account to cover the bill and the £25 "paid item charge".
Now on the 1st of June I've been hit with another £25 which is the "unauthorised overdraft fee" and also 29p interest.
Really quite annoyed, especially as it means we're overdrawn again so I presume I can expect another £25 and interest next month
It was my own fault for misreading Current Account as Premier Direct Current account but it's been a huge kick in the nuts. Thing that gets me the most is how their system can allow a payment of £325 to be made when there isn't sufficient funds in the account with no overdraft. It's crazy.
Certainly lived and learned with this one. Please don't anoyone else make the same mistake as I have. In the words of Del Boy, what a plonker!

Have you tried calling them? If you call and explain, they might waive the charge. Especially as you put the money straight back in and paid the first charge.
Worth a try anyway...0
