Warranty period in different countries

Just purchased a new LG monitor, it comes with a warranty card that states LED / LCD monitor product warranty period 3 years and if you register within one month of purchase you get an additional three months warranty
Web address to register is in Hong Kong, you cannot register there as only option for country is Hong Kong
Registering on the UK site you only get two years warranty
Seems wrong / unfair

Any comments

Thanks

Steve

They can give you 2 days of warranty if they want to - a warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and is NOT something you are entitled to by default.

If they want to give you less, they can.

Appreciate your comments and I understand what you are saying my point is
This was purchased in the UK, the pack that is included in the sealed box clearly states warranty period 3 years with no qualifications
Previously I have purchased things in the UK and the warranty period is frequently different for different countries, but this is clearly stated

When you purchased it, did the retailer tell you it was a 3 year warranty?

It could very well be the tv you have was intended for hong kong markets. My LG tv card/box only stated 2 year warranty but I was given 5 years by retailer (john lewis) anyway.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
