Hi all,

I have read this thread and countless others which have been really helpful. I appreciate this is a thread for information purposes only so have created my own new thread for any responses.

I have recieved a letter from Miah Solicitors on behalf of UKCPS. More info is on the new thread mentioned.

My main question is how do you actually know if this is a LBA or another 'scare letter'.

There is not title stating Letter Before Action. The letter does refer to Practice Direction and Pre-Action Conduct and does state I have 14 days to either pay or respond (iIt has taken a full week to arrive at my door as they used 2nd class post).

Any help would really be appreciated as I have no Legal experience at all.

Such a letter needs to be titled as such (so I believe).

Miah do not send out LBAs. They are not acting as solicitors for the PPC - they are acting as debt collectors, and misrepresenting themselves as solicitors. (Hence why it is recommended to report them to the SRA).
