Poor credit score

Hi all,
I contacted Natwest in Jan 2012 with financial difficulties. I signed up with CCCS and they took monthly payments from me and attempted to distribute to Natwest. However, CCCS kept saying payments were being rejected by Natwest due to incorrect account details.
I asked Natwest to clarify this situation so I could make payments, but they failed to do so.
Eventually I left CCCS and started paying Natwest directly, I made a DMP direct with them. They issued a default on my account in Oct 2012. Ten months after I first contacted them.
Since then, I have been paying every month as per the DMP arrangement. But my credit file shows that I have 8 or more missed payments (red) for the last 5 months, the months before that are a mixture of 'paid on time' or 'account query'.
I have contacted Natwest and they say they have not been submitting any data to credit reference agencies for the last two months and data before this was being marked as 'paid on time' or 'queried' as there was a complaint in place for them to accept my CCCS payments and then my DMP.
What shall I do? Is my report correct? Any advice is deeply appreciated.

8 late is the same as a default. The default date is the important bit.
10 months to default isn't too bad. Should be between 3 and 6 months according to ICO guidelines.
What is this for, card, load, overdraft?
Might be able to get the default date moved back a few months but that's about it. Best defaulted early then after 5 odd years like some on a DMP are. Which is unfair.:beer:0 -
Thank you happy_bunny for the reply.
It is for a loan.
The current balance is £15k, I've been paying £500 per month for the last few months, yet on credit file it shows balance as being static at £18.5k for the last few months and showing as no payments have been made.
Natwest have said they haven't reported anything these last few months, should they have? And will the fact that the debt is not reducing (even though I'm making payments) due to Natwest not reporting anything, affect my score?0 -
Thought this might be a thread expressing sympathy for a 'credit score' and was going to express sympathy for it. Oh well.0

They should update the balance periodically. Saw a post the other day from either Tixy or fermi suggesting that there were no hard rules but 2 months was appropriate.
Send em a written complaint. Will keep their complaint numbers up a bit, make you feel better and they may e en update the balance
