Anyone with a Ford, you can find out what additional extras were on the vehicle when it came out of factory using the FordEtis site.

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure if my 2011 Mondeo Titanium X left the factory with 18" alloys or the 'standard' 17" alloys. I am now...so that should help with future insurance renewals as I can now answer the modifications question with a "no", rather than a "to the best of my knowledge, no".

Some extras are included within a service pack. I would have expected each service pack (linked to model of car) to be known to insurance companies. A work colleague has rear tints as part of a SP on a Ford Focus? Probably does vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

It depends on the insurer.

Some insurers are only interested in modifications done after the vehicle was built. Other insurers are interested in anything that deviated from the manufactures standard spec. There is no industry standard unfortunately.
