SDP- extra money esa

my friend has recently received a letter, stating she could have received SDP a while back, and says she might be backdated, can you help, how long would it take for her to be backdated after filling in the relevant forms, thanks

    Depends on the benefit office you are sending it to. Where in the UK are you, and when is she able to send off the forms?
  • she sent them yesterday i think, says she's hoping they will reply, but doesn't know, how long it usually takes.she's not good at finding out information, so i thought I'd take it into my own hands, by asking here, seemed the best place, in NI... and any other information about this case would be greatly appreciated

    All depends on the backlog in whatever processing centre is has been sent to. It could be days, weeks or months.

    Best thing to do it wait until the middle of next week, call them up to check if they'd received the form and ask them how long it could take.

    I agree wait until the middle of next week to confirm it was received.... but
    call them up to check if they'd received the form and ask them how long it could take.
    Their guess will be as good yours as to how long it will take. Generally speaking they are done within 2 weeks.
