I get £140 per week dla
£59.00 carers
£113.0 HB
199.00 child tax credit
£30 child benefit.
£135.00 income support.
Obviously I would lose out if I'm included in this cap, but they seem to thnk "wait and see" is an appropriate response.
That is the equivalent of a £45,000 salary :eek:0 -

And some additional 'perks', too, that don't have to be paid for. Potentially school dinners, prescriptions, teeth, eyes, school uniform, maybe no rent to pay if it's covered by the HB.
I am genuinely surprised at that figure.0 -

Indeed my children do receive free school meals but tbf it's only £2 a day! Free precipitous for everyone in scotland thankfully!
I don't receive anything else. Other than a bus pass and free taxi card.
EDIT I can claim a £50 allowance for each of my kids for school uniform once a year ( it goes no where near covering the actual cost)Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0 -

I'm taking it with a pinch of salt. Some of Troutwrestler's posts are pretty contradictory

To escape the cap they only need to work and thus becoming exempt - work pays.
I did a family getting just shy of 50K a year today when you include everything, but the lead claimant was an ebay entrepreneur working exactly 30 hours a week and earning a grand total of £16 a week. Gets WTC so exempt from the cap.I work as a Housing Benefit assessor, any advice given is for general information purposes only. If you are so ill how can you care for your child?
Too many loopholes, too many cuts to be made IMO0 -
You will be exempt from the cap due to receiving DLA.0

This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.
It’s ONLY focus is helping people with their money.
