I know its dull but..PARKING EYE HELP!!

Options
Hi all

Ive been reading some forums on here but my circs are a bit different from outstaying my welcome in a carpark and I was hoping for some help.
On Saturday I went to get my hair cut for a wedding. I went to park in my work parking space but didn't have my bollard key...so I stupidly decided to ignore the warning sign in the GP surgery and park there thinking it was an idle threat. The car park was completely empty as it was a Saturday.
Today I've come home to a letter including photos of my car and requesting I pay £100 discounted to £60. This seems a bit steep to me. I would never have parked there had the surgery been open but it was closed.
I know morally I am in the wrong and therefore I should probably just pay but I can't afford it. Truly the most expensive hair cut ever. :( Given the nature of my job I can't afford any Sheriff Court judgements against me (p.s this all happened in Scotland).
Thank you!

    Not in any significant way.

    However...

As it's Scotland you are pretty safe to ignore. For a start, there is no real appeals process, so why bother. And by not communicating with them in any way, they will never know who the driver was, and they can only pursue the driver.

I don't believe that any Parking Charge cases have ever gone to a Scottish court.

    Just ignore.

I concur with the above, there is no pofa 2012 in Scotland and no keeper liability. Its highly unlikely that Parking Eye will go to the Sherrifs Court, they are so stupid they probably don't realise there are different laws in Scotland.

Aren't you Parking Eye employee ?

I know but there is one reading this right now, they scour this site like little insects trying to spread their misery in wider circles, they are the biggest leaches of the parking world, and their employees are simply scumbags.

Sorry I have no time time for people who act unethically.

He didn't mean 'aren't you a PE employee?'! Not you! It was sarky 'aside' to the audience, a comment aimed at the PE employee who is paid to gawp at this forum and others.

And I agree with the others, in Scotland you are playing the ignore game the same as we did last year. It won't go the Court and if it did your defence would not be based on what happened but what PE did wrong. So just keep every letter and every envelope of the date of posting is franked on them, just in case.

But it will come to nothing and you have NO appeals procedure in Scotland. PE would be hoping you'd be daft enough to appeal and hand them the driver's name and address on a plate by doing so. As it is they can only get the registered keeper's details (do not say here whether they were the same, do not tempt the watching lurkers!).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
