Surely this is dubious at best?

How could this be a signed edition? I'm no expert on books but can't see how this is genuine. I can't see how there could be any authenticity, unless Rowling has said she had signed it.

Could it be that someone faked a 'signed copy' of Robert Galbraith's book before they realised that Robert Galbraith doesn't exist?

I must admit that I would never buy any signatures or signed items, as I would never be sure that the item was genuine.

Given that there were under 500 copies originally sold, I find it hard to believe that several 'signed' copies would suddenly appear.
I thought (maybe wrongly) that book signings were done by authors in bookshops to increase sales. Unless she went through an elaborate disguise, there wouldn't have been any book signings.

I'd agree about signed items, there was a signed Laurel & Hardy poster being sold some time ago. The not too bright seller had signed Oliver Hardy's name on a poster of a compilation film that was released several years after he died.

Looks like a different person wrote those signatures.

The Rowling signature is loopy and rounded, and the Galbraith signature is more spiky. Also, there is a capital 'R' in both signatures and there is no similarity at all

I used to work in the book/publishing world & sometimes signed copies of books were given to preferred customers by the book reps when they called in to take that months orders for new titles that their publisher held in their catalogue.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Interesting. I wonder if they give any authenticity to it. Given that the author's name is a pseudonym, anyone at the publishers could have signed it.

"This listing was ended by the seller as the item is no longer available".

The second one in post 6 is still for sale and at £813.

JK Rowling has said on her website in the past that she signs very, very few books and I find it highly doubtful that she would have signed this one. I would expect any seller to be able to provide proof of authenticity before I parted with a single penny.
