Hi.
Need some advice please.
Took my old mortgage out for 2 years in July 2004 through a financial advisor, product was with Santander.
Santander have advised me to contact advisor, who is no longer in business or go to FSCS.
FSCS say that they don't deal with PPI bought before 14/01/2005.
Any advice as to where I can go from here?
Thanks

There is nowhere left for you to go.
However, it is unlikely that the cover was missold anyway. Only a very low percentage of mortgage PPI complaints are upheld.0 -

game over. You have no-one to complain to.
On the upside, most mortgage PPI complaints are rejected. Especially those sold through advisers (of which only 0.2% of cases at the FOS were attributed to - most of which rejected).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). They're not opinions I'm afraid, they're the facts - you have no-where else to go with this one.I am an IFA. Any comments made on this forum are provided for information only and should not be construed as advice. Should you need advice on a specific area then please consult a local IFA.0 -

You have been told the facts. Not opinions.
Advisers/brokers became regulated for insurance in January 2005. Any sales prior to that date were not regulated by the FSA. So, you have no access to the FOS and the FSCS will not consider complaints on pre-regulation cases.
Banks and tied agents differ as they were members of an earlier body which gives continuation that requires them to look at earlier cases.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
