Can't believe it's finally ending.

When I moved here, about 4.5 years ago, I'd just re-financed an existing loan, by borrowing about £10,000.
Over those 4.5 years, I've also, at various points, taken a number of smaller loans, totalling around another £4,500
, albeit they weren't all running at the same time.
Now, finally, it's ending.
This time next month, I make my final payment, to my final creditor.
Here's to a debt free future.

Well done Bob! I bet that going to feel amazing!0

I'm sure it will feel amazing.
It felt great, when I settled the big loan, and I've been ticking off the months (all 4 of them), until the rest have gone.
All I've got to do now is,
, get through the next few months, without any unforeseen expenses, while I build up an Emergency Fund. 0 -
Congratulations Bob! Just put what you have been paying to creditors into a savings account and you'll have an emergency fund in no time. :beer:0

That's the plan u u n.0

Ah that's great Bob, I paid off my loans and credit cards last year and now have a healthy amount in an ISA, credit union account and I over pay my mortgage. I have a pension. I've also got a halifax current account that pays £5 a month. I use cashback websites (I got £25 for applying for an argos credit card that I never use) and have a cashback credit card that I pay off in full. When you have money instead of debt your options increase.
It's such a good feeling.
Well done you getting this far.0 -
I don't have your strength of mind Jox, hence I don't have Credit or Debit Cards.
The only thing I have, is an Orange Pre-Pay Mastercard, which I use to buy stuff online.
As I have to travel into town, to load it, before I can spend on it, it helps to discourage impulse buying.0 -
Work within your limits Bob, that's a good thing. There's people on this site who have the knowledge and ability to juggle loads of accounts and cards to their advantage and hats off to them, I wouldn't have the nerve or patience

Paying off debts and setting up an emergency fund is a great start.
When I paid off my debts I started saving £50 a month in the credit union account, then when I was able to I increased that and all of a sudden had a good sum of money which will hopefully help me on a rainy day.
It all adds up.0 -
Congratulations Bob! What an amazing feeling... :j
