Well, its been a while since I updated, mainly because there wasn't much to say. My business is booming again in the (early) run up to Christmas and so I don't have a spare minute/evening/day at the moment; not complaining though as the money is really welcome.
We no longer have 6.5K in savings.... but we do have a new car as of next week! We managed to save up the cash and have traded ours in as things were starting to go wrong with it (cost us over £200 the day before we bought the new car
). We don't need a 2nd car for another 10-12 months, so will save up hard for that next, and the garage conversion. Lots of saving for us to do then... feels a bit disheartening to start from £0 again in the savings pot, but onwards and upwards we go.
The savings plan for the next few years:
1. 2nd car
2. Garage conversion (although this might be first, depending on the price.)
3. Build up £5k+ of savings as an emergency fund.
4. Throw everything at overpaying the mortgage.
I'm hoping we reach no. 4 within 18 months - 2 years.

Unfortunately I've had an issue with some material supplies which have meant I've had to temporarily close my business for the past few days, am missing the money A LOT, but hopefully by tomorrow night, things will be up and running again. It has meant me shelling out over £300 on some new equipment though, but hoping to sell some other bits I no longer need and maybe make £200 ish.
The break from constant orders has meant I have been able to get a few things done over the weekend. The most useful being to sort out the huge wardrobe in our spare room which was full of stuff I'd bought for Christmas presents. I now have a list of what I already have and who I need to buy for. I've got quite a lot already, but will need to do a fair bit of shopping before Christmas, plus a couple of birthdays to cover too.0
