Staircase replacement

Hi Im looking to have my whole staircase replaced witha modern design,does anyone know of a service in cardiff or nearby who will come and measure and give a quote,looked online seems quite complicated to size up & dont won't to mess it up,cheers

Perhaps a bit of a long shot. I used Gardner Joinery in Cinderford for stairs some years ago and they were good. Prices were very competitive. Anything from this area can be competitive due to low labour rates.

Failing this ask around for a joinery works, this is what you need for bespoke stairs.

Or ask through your local builders merchants. They will have the contacts, either to take the order from you, or perhaps to put you in touch with the companies.

Finally, be very, very careful if you take this on yourself. Stairs are accurate joinery subject to Building Regulations for rises, goings, widths, handrail heights etc. Indeed, if it is a complete new design you should be asking your local authority regarding an application.

Then there is the fitting...the skills of a good carpenter would be beneficial!
