Hi all,
Tried to get info from the staff in the JSA OFFICE but they got less knowledge than me.
I have been offered 15 hrs a week for 3 weeks(Hol cover) on helping out a decorating firm. This could lead to further contract or even making more contacts in getting job.
Currently I get £160 a 2 weeks (partner get careers allowance). We also get council tax paid .I also pay csa. No rent payed as house is paid for.I will get roughly £120 per week.Who do I need to inform and what do I do about NI.

The JCP should have been able to answer your question. Next time ask for a supervisor/manager!
Since you will be working for under 16 hours a week you will be able to continue your claim as long as you are able to meet their job seekers conditions.
However, you will not receive any money as your income will make you ineligible. But they will pay your NI contributions since you will not earn enough to have NI deducted.
Keeping your claim open will mean that if your job does not lead anywhere you can go back to claiming your JSA.
Alternatively you can end your JSA claim and then claim again (rapid reclaim? would need to look it up) if things did not work out.
If you are claiming Council Tax Reduction then you would need to inform them of your change of circumstances. They may not adjust your claim until they know whether this is a permanent job or your hours/income change for the longer term.
Hope it all works out for you.
Edit.
You would be able to make a rapid reclaim if the job didn't continue and you decided to close your claim.

If you closed your claim then you would need to consider making voluntary NI contributions yourself although for 3 weeks it may not be worth it.0 -
Thanks for reply,Have you tried to get to talk to a supervisor /manager.(Newport)Book an appointment ,then you get different info.I went to CAB today ,and as long as I declare I worked under 16hrs my claim will stay active and I go in and sign on as normal.Telling them I worked the hrs.0
