Tesco Parking fine charge

hi there please can someone help me
i am abit lost and feel like i'm going round in circles with not knowing what to do for the best
i received in the post a "parking fine" from Tescos Highview company
hands up i went over, i had kept my receipt as spent over £100 in there but of course sods law i cant find the receipt now ( although i'm sure i could get my bank statement if needed proof )
there seems to be 3 types of advice
1. Ignore it
2. Write off or email and appeal it stating that its not an enforceable penalty
3. Go to Tescos and ask them to cancel it as you are a good customer and spent alot of money in there
I dont want to pay it if i dont have to as i think that i spent enough in Tesco not to have to pay a parking fine on top of it
any help would be good, my daughter goes into hosp tomorrow and i'm stressing enough as it is, so would really value anyone's advice

you need the parking sub forum really (see top of page) but essentially, you were a customer so you haven't even done anything morally let alone legally wrong.
Ignore will be the advice I believe! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
another vote for just ignore0

Don't ignore. Go to tesco's, speak to the manager. Say you are a legitimate customer using their services and ask them to cancel the ticket. It is them, as the Landlord, that has the final say.0

Have you got receipts for the times you were in tesco/cafe? Have you got a clubcard number? Calculate how much you spend each year and how much custom they will lose when you take your business to Asda/Sainsburys.
Mention you may write to your local newspapaer as Tescos don't like local bad press. Copy in head office.0 -
If you get no satisfaction from the manager, post a new thread in the parking charge section, as you can't just ignore it these days.
There is a new way to stop this nonsense.
And don't call it a fine - it's a scam parking charge, meant to frighten folks who don't know the rules, to pay up when they have done nothing wrong at all.0 -
Read the current threads in the Parking Forum on Highview - Ignoring has not been advised for a long time now!0

The first thing to do is complain to Tesco and ask them to cancel the charge.
Go to the store in person and ask to speak to a manager about it. Don't let them fob you off by telling you to contact the parking company as Tesco have the authority to cancel the ticket.
If you don't get any luck in store email the CEO's office. Make a fuss and keep complaining. Assuming you're a clubcard holder they can easily verify you're a regular customer.
The second thing you can do is appeal to the parking company within 28 days.
The most important thing is not to identify the driver so use a neutral point of view and keep it brief.
It doesn't matter too much what you put in the appeal as they probably won't allow it anyway.
If/when they refuse your appeal they should send you a code you can use to register an appeal with POPLA. You can then get advice and put together a much more detailed appeal that will disupte the charge on multiple grounds.0 -
