Hi is a Mortgage Cover Plan the same as PPI? I took this out when I got my mortgage - Halifax - - I was told I had to. And should I use their reclaim form or something from MSE? Help please - am rubbish at stuff like this!

Depends on whether it is PPI or not. A marketing name for a product could be different things. For example, that name could be life assurance.

In the 90s, you had periods when it was compulsory to take out life assurance. THat was allowed (and still is). There were also a number of deals run from the mid 90s to the early 2000s that required an insurance product to be bought to obtain the special terms. That was also allowed (and still is although you dont see it much nowadays).

And should I use their reclaim form or something from MSE?

Until what the product covers making any complaint would be futile. Especially as most mortgage insurance complaints fail.

So, what does the mortgage cover plan cover and what would be your reasons for complaint?
