Hi everyone. I'm really sorry if this is a really stupid question and if I am posting in the wrong place. I have spent all day trying to burn a couple of dvds, feel like I have been in front of my pc for ages downloading everything in sight and still cannot do what I am trying to do!!!!

Ok, not sure how much of this is relevant, but I am using a very basic pc with Windows XP. I am trying to make copies of a couple of movie dvds. I am trying to do this all for free as far as possible and so I followed a guide from this site that pointed to downloading dvd shrink (I downloaded version 3.2) and ripit4me and dvd fab decrypter.

i am not sure how to use these programmes and along the way then downloaded imgburn and divxplayer and divxconverter (but I don't think those were fully downloaded as I did not put my card details in) and fileburner.

Could someone please please please point out what to do in very very simple steps? I am so stuck I cannot tell you and no longer know what to do! Please please please help!!!!

    Hi
What you're doing isn't simple for a first timer.
We'll assume that you're not trying to rip copyrighted discs or this thread will get pulled.

    Do it in a sequence:-
Copy the video files from the DVD onto your hard drive.
(People that rip copyright discs have to remove encryption next)
    Shrink it down to 4.3GB.
Burn it to a DVD+-R disc.

If you think you might make a mess of it, use a DVD/RW disc to experiment with.
You will need plenty of room on your hard drive.

    There's a tutorial for ripit4me/dvd decrypter/dvd shrink here:-http://fora.demonoid.com/index.php?topic=158822.0

There's also lots of Guides at doom9 here:-http://www.doom9.net/

    Good luck
