Success with MBNA - applied for card over internet

Just to update on my earlier thread -
I had received a letter out of the blue from MBNA saying I had been identified as possibly having been missold PPI in 2005.
I am not 100% sure but relatively sure I applied for my card online so I didn't think I would have a case - however I returned the form answering the questions with 100% honesty - thinking it was worth sending a letter off anyway, just in case.
I received my offer letter - £1100 - on Saturday.
I just wanted to let people know as I know there is a school of thought which believes you have little or no chance of a successful claim if you applied for your finance online.

The timsecale and amount would suggest auto payout without investigation. i.e. you got lucky.
You shouldnt have won your complaint but you just fitted within that niche that dont even get looked at. It will work for some but not for most.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). But I didn't do anything dishonest. They had my paperwork for two weeks - I assumed someone would have looked at it.
I answered with complete honesty.
Are banks really doing auto payout? Surely if it was a case of "if you applied online you aren't eligible" that one tick box would have outed me from the start?0 -
MBNA were using a tickbox that required you to un-tick from late 2000 until some time in 2005, so it's possible you were identified as being in this group.
MBNA also appear to be processing complaints very quickly at the moment - my own complaint took just over 3 weeks with payout taking only 2 more weeks.Competition wins:
2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!0
