No unless her eyesight has changed since she last tested then she will have to pay full cost.

Not necessarily correct. If the daughter is under 18 and in full time education, glasses will be replaced free of charge. OP, if this is the case, you just need to take your daughter into the optician. If you use the same optician as last time, they will have a copy of her most recent prescription.

My daughter lost her first pair, i took her in for some new ones and they did them free this was within 6 months of her having the first pair.
With children they allow an extra voucher or two a year.

Well this was tescos!

My son, now 17, has lost/broken/damaged his nhs glasses over the years and has not had a problem getting them replaced foc. (hasn't done it for a while thankfully)

In Scotland the entitlement to free replacement glasses ends on the child's 16th birthday.

If an adult (even ones in full time education) loses their glasses a private pair will have to be purchased unless the person can demonstrate that the glasses were broken or lost through an exceptional circumstance, related to a disability and that the person is at a significant visual disadvantage without their glasses. I have met exactly one adult who got a blue repair voucher and he was a person with Downs Syndrome who lost his glasses when in hospital recovering from a stroke. The health board took 3 weeks to process the application.

My daughter is 12 she lost her glasses today at school the opticians are replacing them free they said they can be done on a repair voucher same frame etc like ordering another copy kids are allowed another pair if lost.

That's an awfully long time to be without your specs! My son has DS and his vision is worsening each year. He can't manage without them now, but his lenses have to be ordered in and take about a week. I've taken the precaution of buying him a low cost pair of glasses as a spare pair, just in case he loses them again! The spare pair cost me about £40.
