sofa insurance what do I settle on ??

not sure if this is the right place sorry if its not please move

bought leather sofa and 2 chairs from courts 2.5 years ago for £1985 also got insurance .(because I was mucked arround this sofa was origionally £2500 but they gave me discount)

recliner has broken thought they could repair it but out of the blue got a call this morning and it cannot be repaired as they cannot get the mechism !!!!

they offered £350 and to keep the suite!!!!

or

£1144.50 credit note for the 2 stores I can go to

negotiated with them and I can now keep the sofa as its prestine apart from the recliner could move it into the conservatory but cane suite in there is fine.

went to the stores today and to be honest nothing in them that takes my fancy limited choice and cheap c**p compaired to what I have at present . need another £1000 to get something half decent which cannot really afford at the moment .not much choice down here in cornwall where they have sent me .

heres the dilema origional insurance agreement says they can give me a credit note for an alternative store of their choice but locally as courts went down the pan .
Can I demand a store of my choice due to "freedom of choice " not sure dad seems to think there is something in comsumer rights ???

any suggestions????
have been told I have to buy uplhostery item with credit note .

help !!!!!!!!

Are there any local furniture repairers in your area?
Try Yellow pages, classifieds from local paper, Thomson directory or Google.

If there are ask for an estimate to repair. If it works out at less than £350 you're laughing if not go for thecredit note and see how much you can get by selling the broken suite.

I assume that you bought it using their credit purchase scheme but on the off chance that you bought it with a credit card get in touch with your card provider to see what they can do.They share legal liability with Courts.

by accepting cash whats left of the 5 year warentee is nul and void as they have paid out.
can me repaired by dad free but wont be quite right all the leather needs to come off and be restitched 6 hour + job and that was the pros quote of time not dads !!
!!!! didnt think £350 back was much considering what I paid and I can keep the suite anyway weather cash or credit note for land of leather or harveys ( bad reports for both !!!)
CAN I DEMAND ANOTHER STORE ????
