This weekend at a wedding we went to sadly on our return to our room we found that my wife's gold necklace had been taken and other items had been moved yet only the necklace was took I reported it to the duty manager whose first comment was "I'm not surprised" which I found almost unbelievable anyway this morning i had to see the manager who with the head of cleaning came and basically said they had the upmost trust in their staff and that the cleaner who had been in the room whilst we were out was highly trustworthy and had worked there many years just then this so called trusted member of staff was stood at the door and it soon became apparent that she spoke next to no English and looked somewhat "concerned"
his was no cheap hotel and has good reviews on trip advisor etc the necklace I bought for our silver wedding anniversary and she was in tears when I told the manager what the member of staff had said last night he almost called me a liar and said that he wouldn't have any cause to say that I however as you can imagine are of a different opinion tomorrow I'm expecting a call from the GM plus the room was kindly paid for by the brides parents and yet when I came to settle the bill for the extras we had the receptionist handed me a invoice for the full amount and when I said that the room was prepaid she said that there was a note on the computer screen to the effect yet she still handed me the invoice and the card machine I said that after the experience we had suffered and now they are trying it on with the settling of the invoice that I will be taking this alot further we have both come home greatly upset I was asked if I was reporting it to the police which I said I wasn't yet after a long drive home I have reported it and they agreed by the comments of the night manager they think they may have a problem I've got an incident number the value of the necklace was only a couple of hundred pounds but seeing my wife crying her eyes out after a wonderfull day is something that will stay with me a very long time I don't want to name the hotel as yet but I will do

What's your question?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
Really you need to wait and see what the GM says when he calls you!
What resolution are you after?
I'm imagining its going to be difficult as you can't prove your necklace was stolen..or indeed who stole it if it was. Can you claim on your house insurance? Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:0
