Disabled Parking
Options
Hi not sure if i'm posting this in the right section but here goes. How do you go about getting a disabled parking sticker its for my grandad who is 80 has diabetes and struggles with vertigo and my granma who is also 80 and has a walking stick as she gets sore knees when walking to far i sometimes take them food shopping and see what looks like perfectly healthy people parking in the disabled bays and my grandad and granma who struggle to get out the car becaues they have to park in normal bays and walk further to get into the supermarket i just want to help them out as i feel its unfair that they haven't got a disabled sticker for there car.

They need to contact your local council who deal with the Blue Badge Scheme.
Look on the councils website tonight anyway and see if its on there.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Its not a sticker but a blue badge scheme and they would each need their own, you apply through your local council. It is in two parts, a part with the users photo on and then a clock.0

If they get DLA (or, presumably Attendance Allowance counts too) then mention that on the form. Without that you'll need your GP to be onboard as the council will contact them for confirmation that you need one.
Also don't assume that just because someone seems to be able to walk normally that they aren't disabled. Invisible illnesses and fluctuating conditions are perfectly valid. Not saying abuse of the system doesn't happen but reports of such are exaggerated.
Also I don't think many folk would complain if you used the bay, or a drop-off point, to drop off your grandmother and then went and parked in a normal bay. The blue badge scheme doesn't apply to supermarket car parks anyway.0 -
