fridge freezer faulty.

HI, I have an AEG integrated total frost free fridge/freezer that I purchased in January 2011 from Wickes as part of my kitchen re-fit. They recommended it as the best they could offer for capacity and that no defrosting would be required.
It was fitted during the kitchen fitting and began to be operational in late June 2011.
The fridge part recently started to cool too much and freeze things. I ran its stock down and altered the setting to +5 again and for a week it ran correctly.
I filled it with goods last Saturday and went away, we returned the following day to find it running at +18,all foods were ruined.
My insurance comp say they cannot help.
Someone came out to look and said the freezer part is at fault, he says it's frosting up, he points out it shouldn't but it is. It's going to cost £129 plus call out to fix.
The fridge/freezer cost £992 in Jan 2011 which was a huge amount for me.
Please can someone suggest if I still can still have a chance under consumer rights?
I would expect something of this price to run longer than 2years.
My previous separate fridge and freezer whirlpools lasted 19 years.
I had saved for 15 years for my new kitchen and I am appalled that the appliance is faulty.:(

Any legal rights you have lie with your supplier (i.e. Wickes, assuming that you made the purchase and not the fitters), so you would need to contact them (and, if requested, provide proof that the fault was inherent)

That said, some AEG models came with a 5-year guarantee if you registered, so it might be worth calling them and seeing if yours is covered. If not, it's worth seeing if they'll do anything.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
