SyncBack - http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/syncback-hub.html
I've just been playing around with this and it's brilliant, and FREE. There is also a version up which only costs £8. I think you have to get the £8 version for incremental backups.
Anyway, features are:
- Email notification, it emails you each time it backs up, or just when there is an error. This way you know it's working.
- Ftp upload, it'll login and upload your files to an ftp. Brilliant feature for off-site backups.
- It'll also backup to all the usual places, other hard drives, network places, etc...
- It can compress the data into zip format.
To name a few. Basically a brilliant backup tool that is easy to use. Definitely worth trying if you're interested in backing up your data.

Decided to step up from the free version, and pay £8 for the next version up.
I've now got my data backing up fully once a week, then incrementally during the week to a second hard drive. Also every week it uploads to my brother's ftp, and also to my other network machine.
I've set it up to log everything and to send me emails if any of the above fail. Now I feel safer. A brilliant program."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
