Furniture village non-delivery

We recently purchased a sofa from furniture village, lovely salesmen and very good sofa and we were informed that it would be in stock week commencing 24th June and be delivered to us that week. I received no phone call during the week confirming any delivery so I phoned up furniture village to chase it and I was informed that our sofa was not in the container it was meant to be in so the delivery would be delayed by a week. Unsurprisingly we were frustrated with this but thought that another week wouldn't be too bad, even though it meant messing around my days off from work.

So the following week I eventually received a phone call and was told that again our sofa had not turned up in the right container and it would be another week before we received our sofa. Yesterday was the date agreed for our sofa to be delivered and we spent all last week organising the room and quite honestly getting excited about finally giving up the garden chairs when my partner received a phone call Friday lunchtime saying that yet again the sofa had not turned up and we would have to wait another week. There was no apology at this time for the inconvenience and it has meant that I have had to arrange another day off, much to my manager's annoyance for a sofa that was meant to be delivered 3 weeks ago.

The service has been appalling from the delivery team and they still cannot guarantee that our sofa will actually arrive, so I'm left having to take another day off work without having the assurance that our sofa will arrive. It seems that the delivery team are not trying to make sure this mess is sorted out and quite honestly couldn't care less.

We are extremely unhappy and would not recommend this company to anyone in the future.
