Concerned

Dear All,

I wonder if you can offer me any advise...

In 2010 I fled a very violent relationship, my ex-partner was prosecuted. When I was away and safe I started to go through my finances and contact my debtors explaining the situation as to why I had these debts (I had absolutely no control of anything - including finances). These debtors were extremely sympathetic to my situation once they had received all the evidence regarding the situation in hand. They allowed me to set up monthly payments which have been very good.

All barring one of course. HSBC. I have made a complaint to them advising them that I can not give my address to anyone other than the hospital and my daughters school for my safety. I did however offer to set up a payment with them, which they continue to reject without me giving up my address. When I was in hospital from suffering a stroke from a brain injury caused they even asked my mother to give them my hospital bed number!!

I have contacted the financial ombudsman to see if they can help me rectify this ongoing issue. I advised the financial ombudsman I am happy for HSBC to send correspondance to FO, or to email me. I have already started getting hounding and threatening emails advising me unless I give my address they will not deal with me and will make me bankrupt.

I truely am trying to pay of this debt in my name, they just do not seem to be budging. Do I contact the FO again to advise them of this?

Sorry for the essay!

Thanks

K :)

How long did you leave it between contacting the bank and the FOS, I believe it needs to be 8 weeks.

Unless they've issued their final response but unfortunately the FOS will only correspond in writing requiring your address, too.

Can you give them all a relative's address?

so what address are you giving the fos
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
