You are becoming a landlord and THE ONLY THING YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT IS THE COUNCIL TAX/UTILITIES?

Do not do this. The list of reasons is too long to put here, though some have been highlighted above.....0 -

You are a braver man than I.
I'm gobsmacked that your solicitor is OK with this. Has he talked you though all the implications of this plan?0 -
What will happen about insurance?0

Why not just move the completion date back by a month? If the problem is that they need money for their new property and you're happy to provide that as an interest free loan then it might be possible for you to provide that as an extra deposit (unless that's kept with the solicitors until completion, I'm not sure).Note: Unless otherwise stated, my property related posts refer to England & Wales. Please make sure you state if you are discussing Scotland or elsewhere as laws differ.0

You must be mad!!
What will you do if in 4 weeks there renovations etc aren't finished?? How will you remove them???
Personally I would extend the completion date.
Not your fault they cannot afford renovations until completion, maybe like rest of people they will have to live in the place whilst works are carried out or opt for a local cheap travelodge!0
