Getting from London Easton to heathrow

I have posted in this section as it is still UK travel. Can someone please advise the best way to get to heathrow from London euston. Obviously there is the tube, taxis and the heathrow express but weighing up the cost and the convenience etc what would be the best option. Bearing in mind we will have suitcases with us and I know how busy the tubes can be. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Does this help: http://www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/euston_transfers.htm

Looks like the tube is the cheapest but most hassle, the Heathrow Express (journey 15mins, departs every 15mins) the most expensive but most convenient (other than a taxi), but the Heathrow Connect (journey 30mins, departs every 30mins) might be the best price/convenience compromise...?

I wouldn't do anything but get the tube. Take the northern line down to Leicester Square, then the Piccadilly Line to the airport. The tube will only be busy within zone 1 - I'd say Euston to Hammersmith then it will quieten down.

It won't be too bad if you are leaving at 8pm as you will not be travelling in the rush hour. Just get the Victoria line from Euston to Green Park and then transfer onto the piccadilly line to the airport. The journey should take about 1 hour. If you are buying a daily travelcard get zones1-6 as Heathrow Airport is in zone 6 (£8.90 off peak) instead of a zone 1-2 (£7.30 off peak) or you can use oyster (£3 off peak single journey fare).

just to add I suggested going via Leicester Sq because the change between lines is shorter. If you go via Green Park DON'T follow the signs for the Piccadilly line - follow the signs for the exit, go up the escalator and then back down again....much much quicker!!

Thanks for the reply. How much would it cost to get an Oyster card?

I have to come from N of England to Heathrow for flights on 2 occasions later in the year, is it worthwhile buying an Oyster card when my journeys will be off peak and if so how much credit would I need to have on it?

Cheapest, as said above -tube on Victoria or Northern Line to Green Park or Leicester Square, Change to Piccadilly line to LHR.

Most pleasant - No 18 bus from stop at front of Euston station to Paddington, Heathrow Express to LHR. all overground, so no schlepping luggage up and down escalators

You can pick up an Oyster card at Euston and it is a £5 refundable deposit, plus you load what money is required on it. You can get your deposit refunded and any small amount left on the card returned when you return it to a tube station ticket office ( Heathrow). For larger amounts of credit you would need to write off for a refund.
