Working tax credits

I started work on 14th May 2007 and in my job I work 21 hours per week over 3 days. I have had conflicting information about working tax credits that I may be entitled to. According to job centre plus staff, I'm only able to claim working tax credits if I work over 30/35 hours per week (not sure exactly how many hours they said but it was deffinetly over 30). However, I read on HM customs website that I may be able to claim if working over 16 hours per week.
I'm single, no kids, 18 and living with my parents, who are in receipt of housing, council tax benefit, income support and statutory sick pay.
I'm finding the benefits calculator website confusing to use therefore I'd appreciate any information you can provide, thanks.
