Remove a self-adhesive border ?
Pink.
In my sons room there is a self-adhesive (vinyl)border on the wall that's been there for about five years.
I want to redecorate the room but when I have tried to remove the border, it's taking the paint beneath it off the wall.
Does anyone have any tips to help avoid this?
Any ideas appreciated.

Have you tried soaking it with water? That might help.0

Another thing to try is running a warm iron over it, which may reactivate the adhesive & enable it to peel off without taking the paint with it. Any sticky substance left behind can be easily removed with surgical spirit, which is great for removing marks left by adhesives, including sticking plasters. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks Cattie,
Think that might just do it.....This was also suggested on
on moneysaving 'old style'.
Going to give it a try
Thanks again

What I really mean, is,.......planning to get Mr p-w to climb step-ladder armed with a steam iron, this weekend! He just doesn't know about it yet!
I am planning to be standing well clear.
Will let you know the out-come.

I've just put up some Thomas the Tank ones. The instructions said to use a hair dryer to warm them before removing them.0
