Volkswagen beetle convertible squeaky window

Hi all,
My wife has a 2007 beetle convertible and over the last week the front windows have developed a loud squeaky noise when in operation.
Tried silicon spray to no avail.Has the heat affected he window rubber or something else?
Any ideas:beer:
