How many dwarf french beans in one pot?

I bought some of the hexagonal patio pots today from Poundland, I think they are about 12" wide.

How many Dwarf French bean plants can I put in one pot?

Would 2 be ok, say one at each side and leave room in the middle for a small stake if needed?

Sometimes they write on the seed packet, or plant label how much space you need to give each plant, but if it were me, I would put 3 plants in the pot. Put a stake in the middle, or a few twigs, at the same time, so you don't pierce the roots at a later date.
As long as you keep watering and feeding (tomato food is fine) then the plants will do fine - just don't forget to check on the watering - they might need doing twice a day in hot weather.

Thanks for the advice, I bought the seeds in a job lot off ebay and I have lost the sheet of instructions that I got with them.

I just bought a packet of dwarf french bean seeds myself so had a look for you. It says to plant 10in apart when planting in rows. Not much help for pots I'm afraid but I would imagine you won't go far wrong following Lauralla's advice. Hope that helps.
